Madhusudan Naidu narrates an incident where Swami explains the need of being born twice

Image
The story is centred around the time when a devotee approaches Swami to get His blessings on her birthday. She brings her son along with her into the interview room where Madhusudan Naidu also happens to be. After granting His blessings to her Swami skillfully directs the talk to the concept of being born twice. Citing the Brahmanical culture Swami speaks about the need for man to be reborn in the presence of God. He says that this is what differentiates human existence from animal existence. Everyone must strive to be reborn in the grace of God whose child he/she is. Madhusudan Naidu To seek the blessings of Swami on her birthday, as the devotee came inside the interview room, Swami asked, “When is your birthday?” “Today Swami”, she replied shyly. Swami said, “ Oh! Not really today. This day your body might have been born to your parents, but your true birth happened only recently, when you came to Me.” Then He went on to explain, “Brahmins (the priest cast) who h

Madhusudan Naidu recounts Swami's teaching on being paid for service to God.

The narrative begins with a translator who upon being asked says that he requires no compensation for the services he had rendered for Swami. From here Swami goes on to explain that the opportunity to serve God is an end in itself and is the greatest blessing that can be achieved. God requires the help of no man, yet he provides mankind with the opportunities to serve him. The erring man in his ignorance believes that he is doing a favour for God. Madhusudan Naidu gives us his own personal experience to substantiate this and cautions against this erroneous thought. It was during the launch of a particular book which was translated into a regional Indian language from English, that the translator came upto Swami to offer his labour of love. Swami asked him playfully, “How much do I need to pay you for your services?” The overwhelmed devotee sincerely submitted, “Swami, this opportunity to offer this effort to You, itself is enough.” Madhusudan Naidu Muddenahalli Swami sm

Madhusudan Naidu gives us a glimpse of Swami's teaching on Love!

The narrative begins with a comment made by Swami to a lawyer about the incompatibility of 'law' and 'love'. This comment on first notice appears to be something candid. Yet on contemplation, one finds that it is flooded with Swami’s philosophical insight. Madhusudan Naidu recounts the various instances in which Swami out of His boundless love bend the stringent and at times inhuman rules of the law - both natural and human-made. This brings out Swami's conviction that love alone is the true law. When a young lawyer, working with the Trust, stood right at the door as Swami emerged, He looked at the lawyer and playfully remarked, “Oh, you and I don’t go together. Yours is law and mine is love. Law knows no love, and love knows no law.” Madhusudan Naidu Though it sounded like a light hearted comment from Swami, yet weighed in gold. I have seen Him change all the laws, the existential and the ephemeral, for the sake of Love madhusudan Naidu . Whether

Madhusudan Naidu recounts the teaching given to him by Swami on the importance of Guru-Bhakti

Madhusudan Naidu is directed by Swami to arrange His room and see to His care based on certain specifications. While carrying out Swami's directions Naidu is perturbed by the question as to why Swami, being the embodiment of selflessness needs such things. This confusion is allayed by Swami who senses his mind and responds by stating that the entire exercise was to teach the student the importance of devotion and obedience to the guru. Respect in carrying out the directions of the guru through action is as important as the respect in thought. On this occasion, the student grasps the teaching. When I was setting up Swami’s room in my home, Swami asked me to arrange the entire place according to His instructions which were very, very specific. His silver cup with water, the chair with cushions, kerchiefs, carpets and curtains, lamps, dining table and chair, bed and pillows, and a small dressing cum wardrobe, all were placed according to His directions. Madhusudan Naidu gives an insight into Swami's observations regarding Human Desire!

In this narration, the reader is told about a conversation between Swami and a renowned medical practitioner. The doctor thanks Swami and says that it is because of His blessings that more people seek the doctor's service. In reply, Swami puts forward the enlightening concept of how desire leads to misery among mortals. Madhusudan Naidu also mentions the part where Swami says that He Himself out of love bestows only good things. He is a source of only the good while the negativity and problems in the world are purely a creation of human desire. Few days ago, a leading endocrinologist, who has many eminent people as his patients, came to Swami and spoke about how one of his patients who is the founder of a global software giant, was appreciative of the Seva done by Swami. Madhusudan Naidu Muddenahalli Swami: “Oh! You have all these great people as your patients!” Doctor: “Swami, you have given them to me.” Swami: “Oh! I don’t give patients, I give the greatnes

Madhusudan Naidu tells us about Swami advice to mimic Prahalada

The article takes us back to an incident which occurred amidst a car journey from Muddenahalli to Mandya. Swami speaks about the four types of students who approach God -  those stricken with physical or mental suffering, those who desire fame, those who desire for the truth and those who are wise. Swami cites from Indian history examples for each category of students. The wise ones are the best and they seek God for the sake of God. They wish to be in his love and this is what God wants as well. Prahalada is cited as an example for this category of students. At the end of this, Swami turns to Madhusudan Naidu and asks him to be like Prahalada. While travelling in the car from Muddenahalli to Mandya on February 21, 2017, Swami asked Narasimha Murthy Sir about the various programmes that were to take place at Mandya. Murthy Sir replied with the details of all the planned programmes, when one particular item caught Swami's attention - a play on the life of the child devotee Dhru
