Madhusudan Naidu narrates how Swami becomes the 'Servant of Servants'.

This account by Madhusudan Naidu begins with a reply given by Swami to Sister Swati Pai. It points out that no one does more service than Swami Himself. Our sacrifices are nothing in comparison to the ones made by Him. Every moment He dwells on ways to serve His children and never pauses in His service. Yet He does seek anything in return. Swami wishes to be known as the 'Servant of Servants'. This is the mindset that He expects from us as well while we indulge in the service of others. madhusudan naidu muddenahalli

Just as Swami was distributing sarees and clothes to the volunteers of Seva Vrinda at Kodaikanal on the last day, Sister Swati Pai, coordinating the team, pointed out to a small group of volunteers, and said, "Swami, unlike those who stayed for three days in batches, these volunteers have stayed end to end and done service."
Swami was quick to respond, "Even I have stayed end to end."

Though it sounded like a simple statement echoing the same words of Sister Swati, Swami elevated the meaning to an all-new dimension. madhusudan naidu

Yes, He always stayed end to end and served everyone. He has always been the first and the last servant! Every morning, He woke up to serve all, till He slept again. Every single day at Kodai, the only thought on His mind was, “What else to give to the devotees, what else to tell them, how else to look after their comforts?”madhusudan naidu muddenhali

From arranging the Western to the North and South Indian cooks, to seating arrangements in the dining hall, to personal supervision of the serving of food, to enquiring of them about their stay and comfort, from handing over shawls to keep them warm, to cameras to capture eternal moments, from distributing diaries to jot down memories, to giving pens with torch lights to light their way, from soul-filled sessions in the mornings and evenings, to the most intimate interviews in between, He was all over the place - serving and serving and serving everyone. madhusudan naidu

It wasn't long ago that in Germany when someone during the Youth Meet asked Swami as to how to introduce Him to the youth who are new, He said, "Tell them I am the servant of servants and not the Master of Masters."madhusudan naidu
