Madhusudan Naidu takes us to an incident where Swami reveals the benefits of offerings.

In this account we see Swami responding to an innocent question raised by a little child regarding fire offerings. The child is unable to comprehend the logic behind it. Swami displays the finesse of a Divine Teacher as he explains to the child a most profound truth in the most simplest manner. He reveals the fact that nothing offered to God can go to waste and that He returns everything multiplied. He also stresses the fact that any offering made to God is complete only when one makes it with love. Madhusudan Naidu is left in awe once again by this simplification of a most profound truth.

It was during the Navarathri Homa and Dussehra Yajnam 2017 that a child rose on his knees while Swami passed by during Darshan and put forth a very sincere question, madhusudan naidu
“Swami, we are offering ghee, sarees and several other expensive articles into the fire, is it not getting wasted? Instead, the same money could be better utilised for serving more poor people.”
Swami paused in His steps, bent low to hear him out, and then with great patience and compassion explained, “Dear one! Anything offered to God does not go waste, instead it comes back manifolds. The farmer who scatters a few grains on to the Mother Earth, might appear to be wasting food which could feed a few hungrier people but truly the wise farmer knows that if he gives even a little to Mother Earth, she will give back many times more as a rich harvest later.”

I could not imagine if the concept of offerings to Gods during Yajnam could have been simplified any further.Madhusudan naidu muddenahalli

Then Swami went on to say, “A little piece of saree that Draupadi tied to the bleeding finger of Krishna, came back manifolds to save her honour in the court of Kauravas.”
“Fire is the postman who delivers our letters and parcels to the Gods whose names and addresses are chanted through the Mantras but without paying the postal duty or attaching the stamp of love, the letter would not reach the addressee. Similarly, we must offer, even if little, with great love which is what God wants from us.”

The child was satisfied and so too was I, overwhelmed at the simplification of such profound truth.
